The Year of Turning 30 – Happy New Year!

Hey Guys,

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you’re all well and that you had a great Christmas with friends and family.

I had a quiet few days with my family and since COVID-19 is still around I didn’t really do anything with friends besides that – so nice and calm!

Turning 30 Years Old in 2022

2022 is the year I turn 30 years old. It’s also the year I (hopefully) graduate from school with my multimedia degree. It’s also the year I’ll be working on scaling my own business, Clickidy, to hopefully turn freelance post-graduation in the summer.

People ask me if it feels weird turning 30 – and to be honest, I don’t know. I don’t really think about it anymore, but I feel like it could be an eye-opener for me when I actually do turn 30 on August 28th.

Age is just a number, right?

Dublin, Ireland – expat from 2017-2019

I haven’t had the most traditional way to where I am now. I haven’t really done like many other people graduating at a young age and chasing down a career at a company in your hometown. For years I was really focused on creating memories and doing something not many people dare to do – moving abroad and living the expat lifestyle. I mean, as much as I would’ve loved to have a career, earn loads of money and have that steady life – I wouldn’t have changed it for anything. I have memories now that I’ll cherish forever and memories that have made me who I am today.

Lisbon, Portugal – expat in 2013

So yea, I haven’t had a traditional career path – and I love it. It takes a special kind of personality to do it – some might say crazy, but it’s worth it. With what’s coming up in 2022 with graduation, work, focus on self-care, and career, I’m excited to get back to the old me.

The Final Day of 2021

A few weeks ago I posted Two Years of COVID-19: What Now? talking about what to expect going into 2022. Now, I’m sitting here on the final day of 2021 and still don’t know what to expect – I guess nobody knows, but I’m hoping for something better.

I’ll leave you with my favorite Irish blessing about New Year and I hope that you’ll have a great evening with whoever you’re celebrating it with. As always, I appreciate you for stopping by and reading this post – 2022 is definitely going to be a lot different than 2021 – and I can’t wait.

Take care,

Rasmus Bak
