Life Update – I’ve Joined YouTube – Here’s Why!

Hey guys,

Thanks for stopping by. As always, I hope you’re all well and safe during these crazy times. Here in Denmark we’re pretty much back to normal and all restrictions has been lifted, so we’re good for now – let’s see what happens!

It’s no secret that life has been tough since my car accident back in 2019 up until now. The injury, being on sick leave for 9 months, COVID, not having a social life for more than a year all added up to one conclusion – it’s time to move on and let’s never look back at this period again.

But, now it’s time to fight back. I’ve been making some major decisions lately. Decisions that will – hopefully – improve my career and help me chase down my new dreams of becoming a freelance digital nomad.

A year ago I decided to join school of multimedia design and my goal is to work with UI/UX design, which is designing websites, apps etc. A couple of months ago I decided to create my own company called Clickidy, which will be my gateway to, one day, escape the 9-to-5 corporate world I’ve been a part of for years and years already.

Now, it was time for the next step for me – joining YouTube to stream has been on my mind for quite a while and let me explain to you why. Let’s go!

Why I’ve Joined YouTube

It’s no secret that I do a lot of work to improve my skills as a designer and I constantly learn new things, methods and workflows in school and on my own and figured that I wanted to document that in a streaming format.

I don’t have any big goals or dreams with this channel but I want to use it to document design challenges, my overall progress and share everything related to what it means to become a ‘multimedia designer’ – and in my case develop that into creating my own company, evolving my skills etc.

Rasmus Bak – A Digital Nomad Journey

I had to chose a name for the channel and ended up with this. I’ve decided to use my actual name and include my dream to motivate me to keep going. Also, I feel like a lot of people know what it means to chase down a digital nomad lifestyle – hopefully, this will help attract people to the channel.

Here a direct link to my channel – if you want to drop a follow (or subscription I think it’s called on Youtube), then it’s much appreciated!

For now, I’m not going to have a streaming schedule but instead stream whenever I feel like I have the time. But I will try my best to do it as much as possible.

You probably won’t be seeing any games being played on this channel – at least that’s not the main goal. The main goal is, as mentioned to document my progress and hopefully stream with you guys, practise and become the best I can be. To be able to learn while explaining everything is the way I feel I learn the most, so I can’t see any better option than to start streaming!

Wrap Up

So yea, that’s a pretty big step for me. Years ago, I tried to stream on Twitch and have a couple hundred followers. Honestly, I was thinking about just restarting that channel but I feel like YouTube is bigger and better for me as a creative person. The easy way would probably be to stream on Twitch because they have a lot more viewers on a monthly basis, but I feel YouTube is more focused on creative minds.

I’ll check out now. I appreciate you for being here and I appreciate you even more if you were to follow my channels – I’m closing in on 300 followers on here and just got started on YouTube, so exiting times ahead and I can’t wait to get started.

If you want to follow me on other platforms and see my work, you can follow me here:

Again, I appreciate you and thanks for stopping by.

Take care,

Rasmus.
