Thanks for checking in.
What is happyness? What is it that makes you happy?
Today, I saw one of my favorite movies – “The Pursuit of Happyness” with Will Smith and his son, Jaden. I think I’ve watched the movie 10+ times and I still love it every time. It’ll make you feel awesome and give you a feeling that you can do whatever you want.
Pursuing happyness is all we do, isn’t it? The ultimate life goal is to be happy while doing what we want.
Obs. spoilers in the post!
“If you want something, go get it. Period.” – Chris Gardner
If you don’t know who Chris Gardner is you need to watch the movie. Chris Gardner is the main character played by Will Smith. A character that should have brought an award or two in Smiths direction.
You Can Do Whatever You Want
The whole point of the movie is that you can do whatever you want. Even if you start with absolutely nothing, you can end up with everything you’ve ever dreamed off.
Starting from scratch and working your a** of to get that new job or whatever your dream might be. That’s also why I’m educating myself in blogging and marketing content. I just got my first diploma this week. Yay!
I’m dreaming of a life in marketing and I’m going to do whatever it takes for me to get there. Sometimes, watching a movie like this boosts my motivation and dedication towards reaching my goal.
The Fight Against the World
“Don’t ever let somebody tell you, you can’t do something. Not even me. Alright?”
Having nothing. A wife that leaves you. Sleeping in the metro station with your son, because you got thrown out of your house for not paying rent, all while you’re trying to sell an unsellable product.
Those are some of the struggles that Chris are facing in the movie and you quickly realize that it’s the World against Chris. Let’s just say there’s something wrong with you if you don’t feel bad for him – I do!
Being against the World nobody believed in Chris but yet he decided to chase a career as a broker in one of the major companies in New York City. Juggling the non-paid internship as a broker while taking care of his son and trying to survive – all, while everything tells him to quit.
In the end the most moving scene of all times shows how Chris finally get his dream job as a broker. His life was about to turn and his dream would come true – the last quote of the movie is:
“This part of my life… This part right here? This is called ‘happyness'”
It’ll hit you right in the feels I tell you this much.
I’m not going to say anymore than what this picture says.
