Thanks for checking in!
Today I just wanted to comment on a little something something! Most of you guys probably know about this product already but here we go.
Facebook & YouTube Creativity
I previously created videos on Facebook and Youtube. Especially, when I was in Dublin I recorded quite a lot. I love creating videos but as I mentioned in my Blog vs Vlog post I’ve started to appreciate writing instead of creating videos.
For me, it takes up a lot of time and I can’t do it as much as I would like to. When I’m writing I can create blog posts like this whenever I feel like it – without any major editing to do.
GoPro Hero 5 Black
Even though I want to focus on writing, I figured I wanted to purchase a GoPro HERO5 Black. As I’m really committed to start travelling some more – and having a great product to record is just going to make things a lot easier when editing!
OBS, because of the new GoPro 6 just came out the Hero 5 is on sale – another reason to why I purchased mine 🙂
I’ve always wanted to have an action camera. Mostly because it’s super freaking cool, but also because of the recordings done with GoPro is just amazing. The 4K or 2.7K resolution is incredible.
I still have loads of things to learn when it comes to the settings – ISO, shutter speed, sharpness etc., are just some of the things I need to learn more about.
What’s That Thing?
This, my friend is a Zhiyun Gimbal. This is an amazing product. If you don’t know what a gimbal is it’s a stabilizer for your recordings. You can attach your smartphone and this product will help you create the most smooth recordings you’ve ever seen.
Even though my YouTube channel isn’t active anymore, here is an example of a video I created using this product. The video is the first video I ever did and of course it’s from Dublin, Ireland.
Even though I’m far from a professional, hopefully, you can see that the recordings are smooth. All I used was my Samsung Galaxy S7 and my Zhiyun Gimbal.
May Cause Security Questions
Hah, this is quite a funny story. When I lived in Dublin I went to Edinburgh for a weekend and of course I brought my gimbal.
When I went through the security I put the box with the gimbal on that table where they check your stuff. As I travelled only with my backpack I had to show them the gimbal and they stopped me!
They weren’t sure why they stopped me but one of the guys pulled me aside and asked me to open the silver box. They had never seen a product like this before and they told me they thought it was some sort of weapon. Apparently, the box looks like a weapon case for guns or something like that.
So they asked me what it was and I answered: “It’s a Gimbal. A fancy selfie stick”. Immediately, the whole security started laughing and wanted me to show them recordings and how it worked – if you’ve never seen a gimbal in real life – they look kinda freakish when they turn on 🙂
That was a great start to my weekend in Edinburg, Scotland. It was super funny and loads of people will look at you funny when you walk around with it – I guess not everybody is used to seeing it. They are used to seeing regular selfie sticks.
Anyway, this was just a really quick post and I wanted to share an insider secret with you if you didn’t already know of the product.
Take care guys,
