So, we all know how much time we spent on our daily fix of electronic devices. We know how much we need our electronic devices and how much of an influence they are on our modern world.

I’m sitting here writing this on my laptop. I wrote the title and also uploaded some pictures from my fancy Samsung smartphone. You’re probably reading this blog post on your phone, laptop, or maybe your tablet – even the small things, we now do on our electronic devices, and we’re not even thinking about it.
Work & “Free” Time Too
Being office ninjas, we tend to spend 8-10 hours every day working on our laptops or being on our phones. Constantly looking on the screen without taking breaks. Getting them “screen eyes” going big time.
Then, whenever we’re done working, we check out social media, todays news, or whatever – on our phones – on our way home from work.
Whenever we get home, we spent our free time relaxing. When we relax, we tend to turn on the laptop to read, check up on things, or relax in front of the TV screen with our favorite Netflix show running for a couple of hours.
Then, we eat – most likely in front of our TV. Then, we shower and maybe head straight to bed, or maybe you’ve got time for one last episode before bedtime. After another two episode (we all know we never just watch one) then you can go to bed, from where you check your phone for the last time before closing your eyes.
Being your eyes. Being in front of a screen, working constantly on focusing on a what’s going on on the screen for (worst case scenario) 12+ hours per day – maybe more.
I can’t say that I’m better than anyone else because I also spent my fair share of hours in front of a screen – on all kinds of jobs/tasks. I just put this post together to remind myself of how much time I spent on this. It’s shocking, really, and I’m looking to make a big change in my life = I gave myself a challenge.
Rest, Rest, Rest – Challenge …
I gave myself a challenge. I’ve been reading about how you can get less “addicted” your phone/computer etc.
A challenge was to leave your phone alone 2 hours before bedtime. Some even bought a box with a timed lock on to make sure the phone is locked away for a certain amount of time.
I want to give myself another challenge as two hours before bedtime is “crazy” (to begin with) and I’m not going to lock away my phone.
So what am I going to do instead?
- Put away my phone 1 hour before bedtime.
- Turning off TV and laptop 1 hour before bedtime.
- Start reading instead or go for a walk to clear your head.
“Life was so much easier when Apple and Blackberry were just fruits”
Hopefully, this will help me to get less addicted to my phone. Also, I want to learn to be able to find entertainment besides my phone, tv, and laptop.
