Settling Down

Hey guys!

Thanks for checking in.

Have you ever felt the pressure of people wanting you to choose a lifestyle you don’t want? Have you ever felt that despite the fact you want something, you choose something else because of what other people want you to do?

That’s me right now.

As some of you know, I moved back to Denmark about 2 months ago from Dublin. I’ve just moved into my new apartment, looking for a job etc., so everything is just fine – or it is?

I gotta admit that I miss Ireland more than anything right now. I’m sitting here, writing this, while listening to my “Irish Folk – Ballads” playlist on Spotify. Honestly, I’m not sure if it’s Dublin I miss or just the general idea of living abroad. I’ve kind of always been running away from the settling down part in Denmark as I feel like it’s too easy – but here I am, in my hometown, in my new apartment, looking for a job.

I’ve been told several times by potential employers that I’m an unsafe choice due to my lack of commitment to one workplace during the last few years – where studying, part times jobs or working abroad has been #1 priority for me.

I’m not sure where to settle down. All my friends and of course my family is here – I know every corner here, where to go, where not to go, and I constantly have the feeling of it being too easy – no real struggle in that.

I’m looking for something new and I’m not sure where to find that.

I’ve actually been advised not to write this post as it will probably make me look more like a wildcard – but I don’t consider myself that way. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one in this world not knowing what I want to do or where to do it – the whole purpose of this blog is to get my honest thoughts out there, therefore, I’m writing these daily thoughts.

“Telling the truth and making someone cry is better than telling a lie and making someone smile.” – Paolo Coelho.

Have an amazing day, guys!

Junior out.
